nieuw thema
door de laatste drawing challenge en door mijn voorliefde
een woord of tekst te combineren met of in mijn werk
kwam ik op het idee voor deze 104ste drawing challenge van 25 - 26 mei
spreekwoord of gezegde
ik ben nieuwsgierig naar jullie favoriete spreekwoord, mooie zin,
gedeelte van een gedicht of een andere tekst dat veel voor je betekent
in relatie met je werk
doe je mee?....
this weeks theme is choosen by the talented Stefanie
fillip, in the sense of encouragement or motivation,
made me immediately think of the propaganda poster
produced by the British government in 1939 during the
beginning of the Second World War, intended to strenghten morale
fillip, in the sense of snap of the fingers, brought me to
my favorite pen, the M10 clic of BiC, which makes a snap sound
and with which i drew my version of the Keep Calm Poster in royal blue
the word fillip reminds Stefanie of her brother Philipp
and that makes me think of mine
my brother is the one who encourages (fillips!) me for years
finally to do what i really like and love

fillip, in de betekenis van aansporing of motivatie,
deed me meteen denken aan de propaganda poster
geproduceerd door de Britse regering in 1939 tijdens het
begin van de Tweede Wereldoorlog, bedoeld om het moreel te versterken
fillip, in de betekenis van een (vinger)knip, bracht me bij
mijn favoriete pen, de M10 clic van BiC, die een snap geluid maakt
en waarmee ik mijn versie van de Keep Calm Poster tekende in koninklijk blauw
het woord fillip doet Stefanie denken aan haar broer Philipp
en dat maakt dat ik denk aan die van mij
mijn broer is degene die me al jaren aanspoort (fillips!)
nu eindelijk te gaan doen wat ik echt leuk vind en van houd
donderdagavond alweer, waar is de week gebleven????
afgelopen zondag reed ik 280 km van hier naar Nadine
nee, ik lieg, ruim 300 km, want ik reed twee keer verkeerd
en ik heb die dag niet één foto genomen
te druk met praten, luisteren, kijken, wandelen, genieten en lachen
nu, op een favoriet plekje in mijn werkkamer staat
één van de kaarten die ik van Nadine kreeg
en

thursday evening already, where is the week gone????
last sunday i drove 280 km from here to Nadine
no, i am lying, over 300 km, because i drove wrong twice
and i have no photos taken that day
too busy talking, listening, watching, hiking, enjoying and laughing
now, at a favorite place in my studio

this week's theme is chosen by Barbara
our sense of smell is our most direct sense
to a large extent scents determine our memories and emotions
but are often difficult to describe in words
some of my favorite scents and memories are:
. the smell of the sea: summer vacations late '60s
for weeks we went to the beach very early in the morning
and in the afternoon when it became crowded back home again
. the smell of open water: by boat late '70s and '80s
and of course with TREES!
. the scent of flowering privet: i am 6 years old and on my way to school
what happend to all those privet hedges?
. the smell of the heads of my boys on the day they were born
sweet as freshly baked bread rolls
. the smell of the garden after a rain shower
. the smell of blooming tulip fields in the evening after a warm spring day
. the aroma of tomatoes i buy at the farm....
i love tomatoes and just yesterday there were tomato plants for sale at the farm!
so i bought three different varieties
i love the smell but also the taste
my favorite tomato salad:
halved tomatoes, freshly ground pepper, crumbled Bettine Blanc,
pine nuts and some fig-date vinegar

ok, ik wil ze liever niet in de tuin
maar zo'n veld vol in het wild
maakt me vrolijk

ok, i do not want them in the garden
but such a filled field in the wild
makes me smile
the theme burlesque was chosen by Tania
burlesque, from the Italian word 'burla'
meaning joke or mockery
nowadays burlesque is a showstyle where everything
revolves around the art of seduction, olala!
i have been tempted by all kind of movies
even bought blackboard for cut outs
but alas, no time, no time
my favorite for this theme the song
and performance of 'All that Jazz'
from the movie Chicago, see here

truly suitable as parody i think

burlesque, van het Italiaanse woord 'burla'
wat grap of bespotting betekent
tegenwoordig een showstijl waar alles draait
om de kunst van het verleiden, olala!
ik heb me laten verleiden door allerlei films
en kocht zelfs zwart karton voor een knipsel
maar helaas, geen tijd, geen tijd
mijn favoriet voor dit thema het lied
en de uitvoering van 'All that Jazz'
van de film Chicago, zie hier
en hier voor die van Glee
perfect passend als parodie, vind ik

de bloesemtakken van onze pruimenboom
dansen in de wind
terwijl ik met een glimlach terugkijk
op de 100ste drawing challenge
